Newsletter 5th March 2018

5th March 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are glad to be getting back to routine again after the adventures of recent days. The snow has been a really happy and memorable experience for the children and hopefully the adults enjoyed many aspects of it too !

Thank you to the wonderful team of Parents who came in today to help clear the yard and have done a super job. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated. While we expect it will take some days for the mounds of snow to clear we hope that the children will be able to have an outdoor playtime tomorrow.

We will resume our normal opening time of 8.50 a.m. tomorrow. Classes will  enter through reception at front of building and assemble in school hall similar to today. Parents of Junior/Senior Infants are asked to enter via reception and walk children to classrooms.  Children will exit in the same way as today.

Our afterschool activities have been cancelled for today and tomorrow.

Our Book Fair will go ahead this week. Some of our classes visited today to view books. Children will have an opportunity to visit again on Wednesday and Thursday to purchase a book if they wish to do so.  Please see attached timetable for this week’s book fair. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help with our book fair and for all your support for our fair.

Our assemblies will go ahead this Thursday led by Yvonne’s first class and Friday led by Derek’s first class. We will be keeping with theme of World Book Day. Children have the opportunity of dressing up as their favourite book character on Thursday or Friday to bring added colour and interest to our Book Day.

Swimming will go ahead as normal tomorrow for Sharon’s second, Jenny’s fourth and our Outreach classes.

Our Child Protection Staff training is being rescheduled. Children will have a normal school day on Friday, finishing at 1.30 p.m. for Junior and Senior infants and 2.30 p.m. for all other classes.

Our second cross country race which was planned for this Wednesday has been postponed.

Thank you for all your support over recent days.

Wishing you all safe travelling over the coming days.

Kind regards,

Mary
