Seachtain na Gaeilge will take place in our school from March 11th – 15th 2024. We will be celebrating Irish language and culture throughout the school.

Ceol Tradisiunta workhops ar an Luan. On Monday, we will have a Traditional Irish music workshop for all classes from the mobile music school. There will be a selection of Irish instruments for the children to hear and there will be song singing also.

We will be holding a comórtas na healaíne – Seanfhocal art competition -Illustrate an Irish proverb of their choice for art competition for the school, using paint markers or pencil. Junior Classes will have templates and senior classes can pick a seanfhocal of their choice. The closing date for entries is 14th March. and there will be prizes for the winning entries.

We are encouraging the children and staff to use their teanga ó bhéal throughout the week speaking Gaeilge chomh minic is féidir with special badges, certificates and prizes for those making a special effort to speak Gaeilge on the yard and in the classes.

Rince Gaelach Marie Caren will be teaching Irish Dancing to our junior classes infants to second on Wednesday 13th March.

We will be singing and learning poems through Gaeilge along with lots of fun games in our classes throughout the week.

We will have a lá glas on Friday March 15th and are encouraging children and staff to wear green!
