Green-Schools Committee – Walk On Wednesdays Launch Day

We had the lunch of WOW this week. Well done to everyone who took part!

Wow stands for Walk on Wednesday.  Walk on Wednesday is an initiative to use an environmentally sustainable means of travel to school.  The hope is that walking to school once a week will create a habit of walking on a regular basis.

Every Wednesday you can walk, cycle, scoot, carpool, or park and stride.

On Wednesdays, the outside of the school will be a car free zone. Therefore, anyone coming to school by car must park away from the school and stride.

Each week there will be a competition for a class to win the Golden Boot.  The class that has the most students arrive to school by walking, cycling or scooting will win the golden boot!

Here are the pictures from the launch. Enjoy!
